Essential management skills for line managers

This one-day course enables your managers to get the best out of their team.

We have supported managers at companies like Deloitte, Unilever, Prudential, Lloyds Bank and Sky to build the core skills needed to lead teams effectively, confidently and sustainably.

Many people are promoted into a manager role because they were great at their job, but soon find their new role requires a totally different skillset.

If they are not taught essential line management skills such as how to motivate people, run effective meetings, deal with conflict in the team, delegate and build trust, the results can be costly.

Managers can burn out, the team feels their stress and underperforms. This can cause high staff turnover, lower engagement and productivity.

Our participants leave with the skills to get the best out of their team and thrive as a leader. They learn to think strategically, manage people effectively and perform well under pressure.

This course equips manager with the skills to:

  • Run effective meetings that move projects forward
  • Set clear expectations around roles, responsibilities and standards
  • Plan and prioritise work so deadlines are realistic and workload is manageable
  • Give regular, constructive feedback that helps people improve and stay engaged
  • Delegate tasks effectively to build capability and reduce bottlenecks
  • Handle difficult conversations calmly and professionally
  • Support wellbeing while maintaining accountability
  • Act as the link between the organisation and the team, translating strategy into clear day-to-day priorities
